# What to Expect as a candidate before attending a Talview Live Interview

Talview’s Live Interview Rooms provide candidates with a seamless, high-quality video interview experience that closely replicates an in-person meeting. You’ll interact with your interviewer in real time and may use features such as screen sharing, a virtual whiteboard, or CodeJam for coding exercises. Interviews can also be recorded (with your permission) for review.

To ensure fairness and security, Talview uses AI-powered facial recognition, ID verification, environment scanning, and secondary camera monitoring.

This article will walk you through **how to prepare, what to expect, and how to troubleshoot common issues**.

## During the Interview – What to Expect

* You will undergo **AI-powered facial recognition** and be asked to present a valid ID to confirm your identity.
* Some interviews require an **environment / room scan** via a secondary device: scan a QR code, then slowly record a 360° view of your room to ensure a secure and standardized interview setting.
* The front camera of your smartphone or tablet, is used as a **secondary camera** feed to continuously monitor the candidate during the session. This will provide an additional angle for interviewers, allowing them to have a wider view of your test environment.

### Interview Conduct

* Maintain eye contact by looking directly into the camera.
* Exhibit positive body language: sit up straight, smile, and be attentive.
* Listen carefully; pause briefly to gather your thoughts before responding.
* Don’t try switching tabs as you will be monitored throughout the session.
* Clarify questions politely if unclear.
* Speak naturally and explain your answers. You can ask the interviewer to repeat or clarify a question.
* The no-speaking rule for proctored exams doesn’t apply to live interviews. Other monitoring rules, such as not switching tabs, still apply.

### Tools You May Use

* **CodeJam** – To type, edit, and test code live in a collaborative editor. Explain your thought process as you code
* **Whiteboard** – Allows you to draw, write, highlight, or erase to visually explain ideas.
* **Screen Sharing** – You can initiate screen sharing to walk interviewers through projects, workflows, or creative work directly.

### Types of Questions

* **Competency-Based:** Focused on your skills, experience, and achievements.
* **Behavioral:** Questions about how you handled specific past situations.
* **Situational:** Hypothetical scenarios related to the job role.
